Your new SchoolYou will be joining a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) specialist school that provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream education. The school supports learners through a highly personalised curriculum, strong pastoral care and a trauma informed approach.As a key member of the team, you will help KS4 and Post-16 students build confidence, develop life skills and progress towards positive next steps in education, training or employment.Your new roleAs a full time Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 14-18 both in and out of the classroom.Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for learners with SEMH needs.
* Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across KS4 and Post-16.
* Building trusted, positive relationships to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
* Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to a calm, consistent school environment.
* Working closely with pastoral and SEN teams to meet students' holistic needs.
* Driving school vehicles to take learners to their work experience placements when required.
* Supporting enrichment activities, life skills sessions and personal development programmes.

* Experience working with SEN or SEMH students-ideally within a school or alternative provision.
* A patient, resilient and trauma informed approach.
* Strong behaviour support skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Confidence building rapport with young people who may have complex needs.
* Flexibility, initiative and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* A full, clean driving licence and confidence driving school vehicles.
