Job Description: About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Facility Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day maintenance of our facilities. This role is ideal for an experienced facility maintenance technician with a mechanical or electrical bias who enjoys problem-solving and working in a practical, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure buildings, plant, and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks Carry out basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs Support maintenance of HVAC systems, lighting, power, water, and plant equipment Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently to reduce downtime Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures Assist with contractor supervision and site access Maintain accurate maintenance records and job reports Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance issues when required Perform weekly test for fire alarm call points and sprinkler pumps. Monitor spares inventory, maintaining min-max and reorder level. Support shift engineers when needed. What We're Looking For Essential: Proven experience in a facility or building maintenance role NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering, Building Services, or similar Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and time management skills Desirable: Electrical qualifications (e.g. 18th Edition) or mechanical bias Knowledge of fire alarm systems Experience using a CMMS or maintenance logging system IOSH Working Safely or similar H&S training Work Shift Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600 Your Benefits What's in it for you? Employees here monitor, manage and correct technical issues that the Operations team - sorters, drivers, loaders - bring to their attention. Each BaSE team is composed of five people working to keep our facility running at optimal capacity using the latest warehouse technologies. Together, they help us deliver what matters.
