Academics are currently recruiting Secondary Cover Supervisors to support a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools throughout Retford on a temporary, flexible, ongoing basis.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, or individuals with experience working with young people who want to gain practical classroom experience without the responsibility of lesson planning or marking.
Position: Secondary Cover Supervisor
Location: Retford, Nottinghamshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you
About the Role
As a Secondary Cover Supervisor in Retford, you will supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences and ensure pupils remain focused on the work that has been set.
You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, maintain strong classroom behaviour, and help ensure lessons run smoothly across a variety of subjects.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes using pre-prepared lesson materials

Candidate Requirements
A degree or equivalent qualification (essential)
Strong classroom presence and communication skills

Flexible and professional approach
Experience working with young people (desirable)
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
