We are seeking a warm, patient and dependable Companion / Assistant to support an elderly couple on their beautiful Highland estate. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys nature, a quieter pace of life and contributing meaningfully to a respectful, well-run household.
Working alongside an established team, you will help ensure the principals feel supported, safe and engaged in their daily routine. You will be a confident driver and ideally enjoy walks, bringing warmth, good conversation and a sense of fun to their days.
The role may also suit someone running an online business or studying part-time, as there is flexibility during quieter periods of the household schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Provide companionship and general assistance to an elderly gentleman in his early nineties with mild cognitive decline and his wife (in her late eighties)
· Assist with simple administration, including online ordering and basic correspondence
· Able to problem solve basic computer issues should they arise
· Drive the couple to outings, art classes, gym classes and appointments (vehicle provided for work use)
· Run errands as required
· Manage and coordinate medical appointments
· Assist with light meal preparation and wash up after meals when needed
· Maintain tidy and organised living spaces
· Liaise and work collaboratively with existing household staff, including the estate manager, housekeepers and gardeners
· Perform ad hoc household tasks as required
· Occasional overnight stays when the Estate Manager is off-site (up to 40 nights per year) acting as the responsible person on the property
Requirements
· Experience working with elderly principals essential
· Trustworthy, discreet and professional with excellent contactable references
· DBS checked, or willing to obtain
· Flexible, positive and able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Full UK driving licence (car provided for local travel)
· Comfortable following established routines and respecting personal preferences
· Enjoys nature and outdoor environments
· Full right to work in the UK
Job Conditions
· 35–40 hours per week, across 5 or 6 days, including alternate weekends
· Flexible scheduling available (can accommodate study or other commitments)
· Occasional overnight cover required
· Generous salary based on experience

· This is primarily a sole position; however, the accommodation may be suitable for a couple
· Location: Near Forres, Moray Coast, approximately 40 minutes from Inverness
· Start Date: Immediate or by agreement
