Key Responsibilities
* Learner Support: Provide tailored academic and emotional support, fostering a positive learning environment.
* Offer one-on-one and group support to students with SEN.
* Implement strategies from individual EHCPs and track progress.
* Promote social and emotional well-being by offering guidance and encouragement.
* Classroom Management: Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning space.
* Use differentiated teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
* Monitor and report on learner progress, behaviour, and well-being.
* Collaboration with Staff: Work collaboratively with other coaches and external professionals.
* Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to learner's specific needs.
* Safeguarding and Well-being: Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning culture.
* Understand and follow safeguarding procedures.
Job Requirements
Essential
* Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload.
* Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Knowledge and experience in supporting students with EHCPs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
* A full, valid driving license is an essential requirement for this role
Desirable
* Qualification in education, teaching assistant training, or a relevant field.
* Experience working with EHCPs and understanding of statutory processes.
* Knowledge of relevant behavioural management strategies.
* First aid or other relevant welfare training.
