Band 8b Neurosciences Clinical/Operational Lead Rehabilitation Centre
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced AHP professional with extensive experience and interest in complex neurorehabilitation services for an initial 12 month contract to operationally lead the NRC.
The post holder will be at the forefront of the ongoing development of the Royal Free Neurological Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) into a high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and community neuro-rehabilitation service and will lead the operational and strategic development of the service. This will include working with commissioners and service users to define specification and the implementation and evaluation of patient outcomes and the operational service model. The post-holder will ensure efficient & effective delivery of the services at the NRC providing high quality, safe & responsive services to adults requiring post-acute and community neurorehabilitation.
The post holder will lead initiatives within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust to improve the management and early rehabilitation of patients with complex neurological conditions. This will include management of time limited projects, audit, quality improvement and research to optimise clinical care and appropriate monitoring of longer-term implementation.
To take a strategic lead on the design and implementation of collaborative care pathways for people with complex neurological disability across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and neurosciences clinical network.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the development of care pathways from secondary care to primary care to ensure integrated working.
* Be the service lead for relevant neurological Disability/Long term Conditions clinical networks and joint working initiatives with NCL ICS, other secondary providers, voluntary and private sector.
* Lead the development of the Community Neurological Conditions Management Team (CNMCT) to ensure integrated working with partners and stakeholders.
* Develop working relationships with commissioners.
* Identify service gaps and work to define needs, taking forward business cases for investment.
* Engage with relevant partners.
* Develop improved pathways for Barnet patients with complex neurological conditions to support transition from acute care to inpatient rehabilitation and into the community.
* Lead the NRC multidisciplinary team in partnership with medical consultant and AHP therapy leads at the NRC and NRC ward manager.
* Lead the ongoing development of the P2 collaborative workstream in conjunction with NCL ICB and NCL rehabilitation leads to ensure that the NRC inpatient service is able to develop and deliver the core operational offer.

* Extensive post-graduate general clinical experience.
* Extensive experience working at an advanced/clinical specialist level in the field of Neurosciences/ Neurorehabilitation
* Post graduate experience within clinical leadership and operational management
* Extensive experience of working with patients with neurological conditions across inpatient, outpatient and community settings
* Experience of preparing business cases
