Due to continued success and new project awards, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our busy design studio at our Head Office in Southampton.
We are a friendly and professional multi–disciplined team responsible for the design management of various projects across all sectors. This role reports to the Electrical Design Manager, and individuals will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Management of project-specific design deliverables
2. Carry out design in accordance with M&E Design QA Procedures
3. Responsible for detailed design following Trant Procedures
4. Interpret and understand client requirements from documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence, etc.)
5. Communicate with clients, external design resources, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications
6. Conduct site surveys of existing assets
7. Perform optioneering and feasibility studies
8. Assist with tender pricing
9. Produce procurement specifications for electrical equipment and detailed design construction drawings
10. Manage third-party designs and support installation and commissioning teams
11. Review vendor control system specifications for compliance
12. Review vendor data and drawings for electrical equipment and panels
13. Manage project-specific design costs with the Project Manager
14. Undertake and verify design calculations, including power system modeling (AMTECH)
15. Prepare drawings for CAD production
16. Assist in developing process control philosophies with engineers and suppliers
17. Produce electrical scope and works enquiry documents
18. Estimate material and labor costs
19. Conduct design risk assessments
20. Prepare detailed electrical specifications
21. Create single line diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, cable schedules, and I/O listings
22. Document all design changes and produce 'As Built' documents
23. Liaise with clients and subcontractors
Qualifications/Background:
An appropriate electrical qualification or relevant experience. Chartered Engineer status is advantageous but not essential.
