Our client, based in Croydon, is recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to work in their small workshop. They specialise in vehicle maintenance and repairs/fleet management, delivering exceptional service and fostering lasting relationships.
Responsibilities
* Inspect vehicles and diagnose required work.
* Discuss required repairs with admin team and customers.
* Calculate expected time for repairs.
* Repair or replace components as required.
* Road-test vehicles to verify repairs or diagnose issues.
* Fit and service vehicle accessories such as parking sensors, cameras, towbars, and reverse cameras.
* Perform service and vehicle system safety checks.
* Perform maintenance tasks, including changing oil and air filters, brakes, clutch, gearbox, suspension, and diagnostics.
* Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
* Carry out quality checks on all technician work and discuss findings.
* When requested, visit off-site locations while adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining personal and team health and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 qualification as a Vehicle Technician.
* Experience with MOT testing is an advantage.
Compensation and Working Hours
Basic salary up to £41,000 per year. After probation, eligible for quarterly bonuses ranging from £500 to £1,000. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am‑5:30 pm; Saturday overtime is optional and not obligatory.
