Aircraft Engineer
to join our dynamic Aircraft Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft to the highest standards, ensuring they are airworthy and ready for operation.
What You'll Be Doing
Maintenance & Repair
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on aircraft structures, engines, and systems.
* Use hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
* Interpret and apply maintenance data (AMM, IPC) accurately.
* Provide your own basic toolbox suitable for the role.
Inspections & Compliance
* Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and routine inspections under supervision.
* Ensure all work complies with aviation regulations (CAA/FAA), manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
* Assist in maintaining accurate technical records and documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
* Work closely with engineers, technicians, and crew chiefs to complete tasks efficiently.
* Communicate technical issues and progress clearly in verbal and written technical English.
Safety & Quality
* Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Maintain high quality standards in all maintenance activities.
* Participate in safety briefings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Development
* Stay up to date with technical knowledge through training and mentoring.
* Support the development of junior fitters and apprentices.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Aircraft Maintenance Qualification (e.g., BTEC or equivalent), or a comprehensive OJT record.
* Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, ideally within line or base maintenance on GA piston-engine types.
* Solid understanding of aircraft structures, powerplants, mechanical systems, and basic avionics.
* Familiarity with aviation safety regulations and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
* Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
* Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
* Effective communicator and team player.
* UK CAA Part 66 Licence or progress toward Part 66 modules is desirable.
