We are seeking a motivated Tax professional to join our in-house team here at Kingfisher, playing a key role in managing Corporation Tax compliance within the Kingfisher UK Group. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of tax computations for the UK, Ireland and offshore entities, while also supporting the wider business with tax-related matters and contributing to team projects. You will be responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, and statutory tax disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all reporting.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of tax computations for the UK, Ireland and offshore entities, and manage Corporation Tax compliance for the Kingfisher UK Group.
* Prepare budgets, forecasts and statutory tax disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all reporting.
* Preparation of balance sheet controls and compliance with internal controls for tax.
* Identify opportunities for improvements to the tax compliance and reporting processes, including finding efficiencies and automation opportunities, and support the implementation of change.
* Assess industry developments and legislation changes on an ongoing basis and advise the business accordingly.
* Provide tax advice to other areas of the business.
* Consider the tax implications of business initiatives and involvement in effective implementation from a tax perspective.
* Review integrity and reliability of systems and reporting for tax compliance purposes to identify weaknesses or areas of risk.
* Support other team members with other tax compliance activities as required.
Qualifications
* Accounting and/or Tax qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA or ATT/CTA)
* Detailed tax knowledge, with expertise in Corporation Tax
* Conscientious with an eye for detail
* Experience of processing large amounts of data in an organised way
* Thrives when working in a fast paced environment
* Technically up to date and aware of industry and legislative changes
* Experience in relation to VAT & employment taxes desirable
