We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of the business. This is a key role responsible for the preparation of management accounts, statutory reporting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place. Tax knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary.
· Maintain the company's asset register and depreciation postings.
· Lead on the production of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
· Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers.
· Maintain and develop internal financial controls and procedures.
· Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
· Support cash flow management and reporting.
· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting deadlines.
· Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic decision-making.
· Liaise with tax advisors and HMRC where required.
· To support colleagues with ad-hoc work.
Required Skills & Experience
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
* Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting.
* Proficiency in preparing and interpreting management accounts.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Effective communication and leadership skills.
* Tax experience or understanding is beneficial but not essential
