V&C Associates have been exclusively retained on a truly unique opportunity for an exceptional and visionary Global Director Of Retail to join one of the world’s most iconic entertainment companies — a creative powerhouse spanning record labels, music publishing, merchandising, and content creation across more than 60 countries. Reporting directly into the President.
This newly created position will play a pivotal role in launching and scaling an immersive experiential retail concept that fuses music, culture, storytelling, events, and hospitality into one destination and experiential experience. As the organisation establishes and expands its physical footprint across the UK and Globally the Director of Retail will lead the evolution of this culture-driven retail venture from inception to global expansion.
Entrepreneurial in mindset and strategic by nature, the Director of Retail will harness both creative and commercial disciplines — designing, delivering, and optimising a truly world-class experiential offering that embodies the brand’s innovation and spirit.
Core Responsibilities
* Define and execute a global retail and experiential strategy aligned with the brand’s creative and commercial ambitions.
* Develop and refine a scalable retail model integrating immersive storytelling, live events, and F&B.
* Lead commercial performance across multiple markets, owning P&L management, KPIs, and global retail operations.
* Partner with executive leadership to create market entry roadmaps and drive international growth.
* Oversee all aspects of store operations, ensuring excellence in service, presentation, and product experience.
* Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams on product development and experience curation.
* Establish best-in-class operational standards and procedures for consistency and scalability.
* Direct store openings, pop-ups, refits, and new format launches, ensuring flawless execution.
Customer Experience & Brand Engagement
* Lead the creation of an immersive, customer-first retail journey that embodies premium service and distinctive storytelling.
* Partner with creative and marketing teams to deliver in-store activations, collaborations, and cultural events that amplify the brand’s musical DNA.
* Oversee visual merchandising and campaign integration to ensure coherence across physical and digital touchpoints.
People & Culture
* Build, hire and inspire, high-performing teams across retail, operations, and experiential disciplines.
* Develop training and leadership frameworks that promote innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
* Foster a start-up spirit and entrepreneurial approach within a fast-growing global environment.
Skills & Experience
* Proven success in a senior retail or experiential leadership role, ideally within music, fashion, lifestyle, or culture-led industries.
* Demonstrated ability to launch and scale new retail concepts from start-up to international rollout.
* Strong understanding of Buying & Merchandising
* Must have had exposure to P&L accountability
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering sales growth and profitability across multiple sites.
* Deep understanding of omnichannel retail, experiential design, and cultural brand engagement.
* Inspirational leader with experience managing cross-functional and international teams.
* Passionate about music, culture, creativity, and innovation, with the vision to turn concepts into tangible experiences.
