We’re looking for a practical, organised and proactive Purchasing Executive to take day‑to‑day responsibility for buying materials, maintaining accurate inventory and supporting smooth production within a busy manufacturing environment.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working closely with suppliers, solving problems quickly and keeping operations running efficiently. You’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are available on time so production and customer orders can be delivered without interruption.
To oversee and purchase the materials and inventory required for production and customer orders, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely supply throughout the purchasing cycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Run the Stock Requisition Worksheet according to schedule to ensure materials are purchased in good time for production and sales.
* Manage, support and motivate the Purchasing Assistant.
* Maintain accurate stock inventory and support full stock‑take activities.
* Chase and expedite late deliveries, working with suppliers to resolve delays.
* Investigate and correct negative stock and discrepancies before month end.
* Review and resolve all stock errors and adjustments promptly.
* Ensure all work adheres to the correct production handbooks (IPH B and PHB).
* Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency within the purchasing function.
* Support supplier consolidation and re‑sourcing activities.
* Maintain accurate vendor lead times and update when needed.
* Negotiate with suppliers and customers to achieve the best prices, payment terms and delivery schedules.
* Carry out additional tasks relevant to skills and experience when reasonably required.
