To provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice working in accordance with the NMC Code of conduct
Provide nursing treatments to Patients independently or in participation with other clinical colleagues working to agreed protocols and guidelines
Provide general and specific health screenings to the Practice Patients within agreed protocols and guidelines referring to other members of the clinical team as necessary
To manage Patients with chronic diseases; running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems
Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and meet targets delivering the national immunisation and vaccination schedule

The Clinical Team consists of 1 Partner, 2 Salaried GPs, 1 Pharmacist, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and 2 Phlebotomists alongside a highly committed and efficient management, administrative and secretarial team. Provide advice to Patients for general health care and minor ailments, with referral to another clinician as necessary
To participate in research within the Practice
To be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment room and equipment
To assist with the management of leg ulcers
Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests
Ensure all statutory regulations ( Infection control, Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to
To maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments in the Patients notes, both written and computerised
Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with Patient health care and registration with the Practice
Ensure collection of statistical information is required for regular and ad hoc reports
To have working knowledge of equipment used in the surgery
Ensure compliance with Patient confidentiality at all times in line with current legislation
Contribute to the development of new Patient services
Inform your line manager of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the Practice

Qualifications

13. Registered General Nurse
14. Member of the Midwifery Nursing Council with current 3 yearly revalidation
15. Car owner / driver
16. Flexible working to cover annual leave/sickness
Desirable
17. Non- Medical Independent Prescribing qualification
18. Relevant diplomas in management of Long Term conditions
19. Knowledge of vaccinations and Immunisations
20. Nurse post-registration experience
21. Experience of contributing to the improvement and / or quality of service as part of a multi-disciplinary team
22. Experience of developing and implementing guidelines
23. Experience of working as an experienced Practice nurse in GP practice
24. Clinical knowledge for managing Chronic Disease and / or family planning
25. Ability to develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and / or difficult situations
26. Computer literacy
