This is a highly technical SQL-Server / Power BI report developer role, supporting the management information requirements of the informatics customers. Application of data presentation, mapping, visualisations and story telling skills to design, develop and implement creative reports in ways which are universally understandable or easy to interpret and allow identification of patterns, trends, and correlations. Using SQL and Power BI as the primary data extraction and presentation tools. To be a subject matter expert and primary point of contact, providing training, support and advice to informatics colleagues across the Trust.Work collectively with ICT colleagues and liaise with system owners and specialists across the trust to ensure reporting requirements meet the needs of all users. Whilst this post is flexible on-site working is still required for the role. Main duties of the job • Develop intuitive, professional, and interactive data visualisations for dashboards, reports, and presentations, making large and complex data sets accessible and understandable to users. • Distil quantitative and qualitative data to communicate compelling stories in a format that will convey its meaning to a diverse audience. • Interpret requirements, create functional specifications, perform highly complex analyses, and present options and recommendations to obtain desired results. • Ensure Standard Operating Porcedures (SOPs) and policies are kept relevant, implemented and maintained in line with national guidelines. • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills • Expert in visualization tools, specifically PowerBI. • Extraction and interrogation of data from multiple data sources using Business Intelligence software including, but not limited to SQL, SSRS, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI. This will include regular in-depth audit and review of reports produced by partner agencies to ensure compliance with best practice and agreed policies and procedures. • Ability to communicate and work in partnership effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries in both formal and informal environments to maximise the sharing of knowledge, processes and skills and develop the Trusts analytical capability. • Collaborate with different departments including technical development teams, informaticians, clinical and operational staff to solve problems, create solutions and new ways of working and convey key messages using data visualisation techniques. • Effective use of communication and persuasion skills to discuss tasks with customers capture and analyse their information requirements.
