Assistant Store Manager | Swindon | £28,000 + Bonus | No Evenings
Are you a strong customer service professional with management experience in retail, hospitality, leisure, property, administration or another customer-facing environment?
We're recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager to join a growing business in its sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, driving sales, keeping operations organised and taking real ownership of the day-to-day running of a site.
This is a 40-hour contract, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with Saturdays on a rota, 09:00 to 13:00. There are no evening shifts, offering a strong work-life balance compared with traditional retail management roles.
The Role
As Assistant Store Manager, you'll support the smooth running of the store, helping customers with their storage requirements while ensuring the site operates to a high standard.
You'll be involved in:
Responding to customer enquiries and converting leads into reservations
Delivering excellent customer service and building strong customer relationships
Supporting sales activity, upselling where appropriate and maximising opportunities
Maintaining accurate records, customer information and internal systems
Supporting with rent payments, arrears and general administration
Ensuring the site is clean, safe, secure and well presented
Carrying out basic health & safety checks and reporting any maintenance issues
Supporting day-to-day operations and helping the wider team deliver strong site performanceThe Candidate
We're looking for someone who is organised, customer-focused and comfortable working in a hands-on role.
You could come from a background such as:
Retail management
Hospitality management
Leisure or fitness management
Sales administration
Customer service
Property, lettings or facilitiesYou'll need:
Strong customer service skills
Good organisation and attention to detail
Confidence using systems and Microsoft Office
A proactive, can-do approach
The ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
A commercial mindset and confidence speaking to customers about products and servicesPrevious self-storage experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
