Job Description
The Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for FDA Ltd. plays a vital role in safeguarding the interests of Fidelity and its clients. The individual will oversee, develop, and implement compliance programs aligned with FCA regulations, including creating and reviewing policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Responsibilities also include coordinating projects with internal and external partners, delivering compliance training, monitoring regulatory changes and industry trends, and developing an effective compliance framework. As Head of AML/CFT, the role involves establishing and maintaining anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing programs and acting as MLRO.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with all obligations, including oversight of compliance services for FDA Ltd.
* Assist in addressing compliance matters and contribute to the overall compliance program, including FCA digital asset requirements.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures; manage the Compliance Manual.
* Train staff and promote compliance awareness across the organization.
* Maintain relationships with regulators and self-regulatory organizations.
* Evaluate and report on the adequacy of systems and controls to detect breaches.
* Coordinate regulatory inquiries, examinations, and external inspections.
* Lead regulatory reporting and filings, liaising with legal counsel as needed.
* Maintain communication channels with relevant departments and report activities to senior management.
* Work with technology teams to improve systems for compliance monitoring.
* Implement and oversee AML/CTF/Sanctions compliance programs, including risk assessments and controls.
* Conduct assurance testing of AML/CTF controls.
* Support KYC processes and work with third-party providers on compliance updates.
* Ensure timely submission of suspicious transaction reports.
Requirements
* Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
* Ability to influence decision-makers and work collaboratively across functions.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret regulatory guidance and advise on compliance.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, legal, finance, or securities-related field.
* 10+ years of experience in asset management or securities, preferably in digital assets, with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance.
* Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements for digital asset firms.
* Deep understanding of AML/CTF/Sanctions frameworks, policies, controls, and KYC requirements.

This role reports to the Chief Compliance Officer for Fidelity Digital Assets, a dedicated platform for digital assets, and operates as a separate entity within Fidelity Investments.
