As a Painter and Decorator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting, decorating, and general building fabric maintenance across the university estate while ensuring excellent customer service for staff and students. What you'll do: Carrying out painting and decorating across university buildings and residences Completing basic building fabric repairs such as patch plastering, door repairs, and minor plumbing repairs Supporting the maintenance team with general repairs and fabric maintenance Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe, and tidy at all times Completing job sheets and updating maintenance systems accurately Supporting room inspections and university events when required Working safely in line with Health & Safety, COSHH, and risk assessments Supporting recycling and waste management initiatives across the estate Engaging with contractors and specialist suppliers when required Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with building users What you bring: Experience in painting and decorating and general building fabric maintenance Experience in a maintenance, caretaking, or facilities environment Ability to complete basic repairs such as door repairs, patch plastering, and minor plumbing Good organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Good communication and customer service skills Basic IT skills and ability to update job systems Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices Desirable: Experience working in a university, student accommodation, or multi-site environment IOSH Working Safely Legionella Awareness Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude What we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater.
