The role of Sales Manager North Germany within the Infectious Market Business Unit is to ensure Abbott RDx leads in large scale moves toward point‑of‑care within the public, private and strategic partners in the primary and secondary care sector. This will require managing and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders. The role will lead the ARDx ID Sales Team in Germany North Region, driving the strategy of the ARDx ID Business Unit in these sectors while exemplifying Abbott values in collaboration with other Abbott divisions to generate solutions for customers. The Sales Manager provides management and leadership to the commercial organisation in the North Region, executing the sales and business development strategy in compliance with Abbott guidelines and ethical policies.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Deliver short‑ & long‑term volume, sales, profit & market share goals by developing and delivering Organisational Excellence within our commercial organisation.
* Manage the portfolio and sell and train products in various market segments and environments, through sales reps and own accounts.
* Develop a high‑performance team with depth, ensuring succession planning for all key positions and skill sets.
* Define sales strategy in collaboration with the General Manager Region West to achieve and reflect company goals.
* Build relationships and access C‑level hospital decision‑makers to present value proposition for Abbott products.
* Identify potential targets for strategic partnerships/alliances.
* Remain attentive to customer needs and problems and take necessary steps to respond to or solve them.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
* Develop well‑trusted and in‑depth relationships with public and commercial payer stakeholders, interfacing with Key Opinion Leaders, developing strategies to address market access barriers and supporting the sales force.
* Understand, describe, prioritise and liaise with relevant market access stakeholders (payers, governmental bodies, industry associations) for local ARDx organisation/business.
* Collaborate with other functions (Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Market Access, Finance, Customer Service).
* Ensure the commercial operation complies with all relevant legal, regulatory, tax & ethical boundaries.
* Recruit employees and participate in job interviews.
Qualification
* At least 5 years’ sales management experience in the in‑vitro diagnostics market.
* High level of initiative, success‑driven, responsibility, accountability and agility.
* Consistent track record of achieving profitable growth.
* Demonstrable track record in negotiation success, securing contracts.
* Ideally experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer‑focused organisation.
* Ability to think innovatively and not be constrained by current practices.
* Experience with CRM systems.
* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain positive people relationships and build strong links with all departments in a company matrix structure.
* Possesses flexibility and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑changing environment and ambiguous situations.
* Fluent in German, highly proficient in English.
