Responsibilities
* Strengthen and work with the Department’s East Asia–focused scholars, contributing to and shaping the Department’s research profile as well as delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
* Convene and teach both general and specialist modules (individually and with others).
* Advise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, supervise PhD theses (pending completion of a probationary period).
* Provide pastoral care for students.
* Collaborate with academic and non-academic staff across the Department and the School in a collegial and collaborative manner.
* Experience in running online modules and executive education, as well as engagement with non-academic audiences (beneficial).
Qualifications and Experience
* Thematic specialization and regional expertise focused on the politics of modern China.
* Ability to contribute to the Department’s research profile and to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* A strong publication record and demonstrated research excellence.
* Experience with online modules and executive education is desirable.
