The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) is recruiting for a Senior Clinical Research Fellow to be based at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City. You will join one of OUCRU's world-leading research groups in infectious diseases, working within a dynamic and collaborative environment that is part of the wider Oxford Tropical Network.
In this role, you will lead and develop clinical research and clinical trials in one of OUCRU's focus areas: drug-resistant infections, emerging infections, dengue, malaria, or tuberculosis. You will work closely with the OUCRU Clinical Trials Unit to deliver innovative, high-quality studies, support discovery research, and contribute to advances in trial design and conduct. Alongside developing your own research programme, you will supervise junior researchers and students, publish in high-impact journals, present at international conferences, and engage with policymakers and stakeholders to translate research into practice.
To be successful, you will be a consultant-level infectious diseases physician with a PhD in a relevant field and a strong international track record in infection-related clinical research. You must hold a medical degree with specialist training in infectious diseases and be registered to practice medicine (with the GMC or equivalent authority). Significant experience designing and delivering clinical trials, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, as well as an excellent publication record and established international collaborations, are essential. Experience working in Asia, policy engagement, and applying innovative methods or technologies to clinical research would be highly desirable.
