Overview
A vacancy at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board. This role is open only to employees of the NHS Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care Board and affiliated trusts and organisations. An experienced Support Officer is needed to join the Health Inequalities Team and support the NHS to reduce health inequalities through coordination of a broad range of programmes and initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Support the Health Inequalities Team and broader NHS to reduce health inequalities that exist within the system through coordination of a broad and diverse range of programmes and initiatives.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of the standards of project management templates and processes within the team, including Programme and Project Plans, timelines, Risk Registers and Highlight Reports.
* Maintain effective communication across the team in understanding timescales and milestones which impact upon strategic or programme plans and escalating risk, issues or delays where appropriate.
* Prepare and produce reports and presentations for audiences ranging from members of the public to senior personnel working at a strategic level.
* Support the team to complete system implementation plans, quarterly assurance reports, NHS England returns, evaluation reports and other ad‑hoc reporting and presentations, as appropriate.
* Lead on smaller‑scale, internal team projects with supervision and support from senior members of the Health Inequalities Team.
* Contribute to the development of key performance indicators and impact metrics for successful assessment of performance.
* Analyse project or programme data and performance and ensure contingency plans are in place, where necessary.
* Support the organisation and coordination of webinars, events, workshops or other informative sessions (virtual and face‑to‑face) in terms of pre‑planning and on‑the‑day execution.
* Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the Integrated Care System (ICS) to capture case studies and share best practice for dissemination and uploading to the local system intranet.
* Maintain and utilise the Prevention and Health Inequalities SharePoint as a central space for guidance and resources and support in disseminating up‑to‑date resources, events, publications and updates from the NHS England Health Inequalities and Greener NHS Teams.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with key system stakeholders from across the Integrated Care System (ICS), ensuring sufficient patient and public involvement in transformation initiatives.
* Review working practices and suggest improvements to ensure continual quality improvement.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in providing project support in a healthcare setting.
* Able to solve problems and make adjustments if targets are not being met.
* Highly motivated and able to work on own initiative, organise workload without supervision and meet tight and dynamic timescales.
* Strong organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and a good team player.
* High degree of computer literacy, including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to analyse and present information in appropriate formats.
* Experience with project management tools (e.g., Excel, PMO software) and the creation and manipulation of documents within Excel is desirable.
Applicants should be current employees of NHS Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care Board or its partner organisations. Secondments require line‑manager agreement prior to application.
