Overview

Retail Store Manager – Jollyes The Pet People - Darlington. Salary £27,011 - £30,322 p.a. + bonus potential of £2-10k p.a. The role involves managing the daily operations of the store, including team management, store standards, stock management and delivering excellent customer service to our pet parents.

The Role – Store Manager

* Reporting to your Regional Manager, you will lead by example, creating an excellent culture and working environment for your team, and demonstrating our values of being: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together.
* You will have full responsibility for all aspects of running a successful store, managing KPIs around people, store standards, customer service standards and financial performance, maximizing turnover and gross margin while controlling costs.
* Ensure you and your team deliver the highest standards of pet care with a focus on animal welfare and promoting responsible pet ownership.
* Provide exceptional customer service by delivering a great shopping experience and maintaining strong pet and product knowledge. (Training given)
* Recruit, motivate, train and develop your team, review and manage performance, and promote Jollyes as an employer of choice within your local community.
* Ensure clear communication of key business updates and individual and team objectives.


The Skills

To be successful in this role you’ll need the following skills and experience:

* A passion for pets and people; delighting customers with an unrivalled shopping experience.
* Previous retail store management experience with a hands-on approach to daily operations and planned activity for short/medium/long-term success.
* Strong decision maker, able to communicate objectives and build high performing, engaged teams with succession planning for future leaders.
* Proven track record in developing business performance, exceeding KPIs, and maintaining high store standards including health & safety and legal compliance.
* Commercial awareness with P&L management and a proactive approach.
* Full-time, permanent position – 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
