COMMERCIAL INSURANCE UNDERWRITER

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Get Recruited are working with an established insurance brokerage who are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to underwrite a varied portfolio of risks while developing strong broker relationships and supporting the profitable growth of the business.
THE ROLE:
* Underwriting renewals, and mid-term adjustments across insurance lines
* Assessing risk information and making underwriting decisions within delegated authority
* Pricing risks accurately to achieve profitability and growth targets
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
* Negotiating terms, conditions, and premiums
* Ensuring underwriting decisions comply with internal policies and FCA regulations
* Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying trends and opportunities
* Working collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting, operations, and claims
REQUIREMENTS:
* Must have experience as an underwriter within commercial insurance
* The ability to make sound underwriting decisions and justify them clearly
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
