Scott Arms Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and inspiring GP Trainer to nurture the talent of future General Practitioners and enhance our training environment. This is a part-time, salaried GP position of 6 sessions per week. The post-holder will provide general medical services, deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, and ensure the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Excellent communication, compassionate and friendly nature, and the ability to work in a demanding environment with strong customer service are essential. You will provide a high quality service to patients and colleagues.

Main duties
* Take clinical responsibility for registered and temporary patients and maintain appropriate treatment records and NHS services provided.
* Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the GMS contract and enhanced services where appropriate.
* Undertake a variety of consultations (face-to-face, telephone triage, telephone consultations, and home visits) and participate in the on-call rota; ensure timely referrals and optimise use of Choose and Book.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems; assess health needs of patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed problems.
* Record clear and contemporaneous notes in system one to agreed standards; maintain accurate notes of all patient contact and consultations in line with IM&T protocols.
* Prescribe safely and effectively in line with CCG formulary, NICE guidance and DH directives; manage repeats with regular reviews.
* Supervise GP registrars, foundation doctors, Physician Associates, nurses, pharmacists, HCAs and other AHPs; recognise limits of confidence and competence.

The Role
As a GP Trainer, you will play a crucial role in the development of our GP Registrars (GPSTs) by providing educational and clinical supervision, delivering one-to-one tutorials, and contributing to a positive learning environment. You will help trainees through their GP specialty training, oversee their e-portfolio, and conduct Workplace Based Assessments (WPBAs) and progress reviews, while staying abreast of the latest clinical developments.

Our clinical team includes GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Physician Associates, and a Social Prescriber. We have a strong team atmosphere and a focus on continuous development.
Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of the NHS and commitment to continuing professional development.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Good organisational and time management skills; able to work calmly under pressure.
* Willingness to participate in Practice meetings and development initiatives; maintain confidentiality.
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration.
* Completion of MRCGP examination.
* Experience in general practice, ideally within a training environment.
* Commitment to teaching and mentoring.
* MRCGP qualification and a minimum of post-CCT experience (exact years to be confirmed).
* Based at an NHS England approved training site.
* Minimum of 4 clinical sessions per week (5 if a solo-trainer).
* Completion of an NHS England approved GP Trainer’s course or equivalent.
* Passion for teaching and nurturing future GPs.
* Ability to provide high-quality patient care alongside teaching duties.
