We are seeking a compassionate, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping the child to access learning, develop key skills and thrive within the school environment.

Start Date: 1st September 2026
Salary: £14.30 - £15 per hour
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs in EYFS
* Assist with personalised learning tasks and interventions
* Support the child’s social, emotional and communication development
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and external professionals
* Help to create a calm, engaging and inclusive learning environment
* Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP or SEN support plans
* Attend relevant training and follow guidance on best SEN practice
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within Early Years
* A nurturing, patient and positive approach
* Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Understanding of EYFS child development
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Desirable
* Experience supporting children with speech, language or communication needs
* Knowledge of EHCP processes and SEN strategies
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN training)
