37.5 hours/week, 7:45am - 4pm Monday - Thursday / 7:45am - 2:15pm Fridays, 30 mins unpaid lunch, 15 mins paid break Overtime available: x1.5 Monday - Saturday, x2 Sunday/Bank Holidays Call out rota: 1 in 5, £237.50 per week on call, plus £50 per call answered. The role: You will be responsible for the winding, testing, and assembly of AC/DC electrical motors. This includes detailing, rewinding, connecting, and testing windings, using impregnation and stoving methods, and operating specialist tools. You will work both in-house and on customer sites, with flexibility for overtime and emergency response including participation in a call out rota.
Main duties & responsibilities: Testing of AC/DC motor windings Correct use of burnout techniques Detailing and rewinding of AC/DC motor windings Connection and testing of windings Impregnation and stoving methods Use of specialist tools and assistance with other key workshop tasks Rewinding 415 Volt stators/rotors, AC sectional wound HV motors up to 11KV, DC Armatures, and DC Field cases Flexibility for overtime and emergency response including call out rota Working on-site and at customer locations
Essential skills / experience / qualifications: Band 2 Candidates: Formal training or qualification in winding within a motor environment advantageous (Level 2 or 3 in mechanical/electrical disciplines considered) Electrical knowledge of motors, willingness to train to specialise Mechanical fitting knowledge advantageous but not essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Safety-conscious approach to self and colleagues Driving license advantageous but not essential Band 3 Candidates: Solid experience in AC and DC winding, stator and/or armature winding (AC-only experience also considered) Strong knowledge of motor winding processes and workshop procedures Why Join This Company?
