Devon Highways is currently looking to for a permanent Site Supervisor to work on our Term Maintenance contract covering Area South in Rydon and Ivybridge. As a Site Supervisor you will be part of our Devon Highways Team who are responsible for maintaining the Highways network for Devon County Council. To successfully deliver the Devon Highways maintenance contract in line with the M Group Highways values, policies and approach. The role requires a positive working relationship with the client, the contract team, the wider M Group team, the supply chain, and all other stakeholders. Specific focus on operational delivery across the depots to ensure all resources are utilised safely, efficiently, and effectively to maximise productivity outputs. Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? You'll have daily control of all on site activities and enforcement of M Group minimum standards, policies, and procedures. You'll utilise resources to ensure that the gangs remain fully productive with associated challenge and support where necessary. Manage and supervise schemes on-site to ensure that work is carried out safely, in accordance with the HSEQ standards. The role will involve efficient organisation and utilisation of labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources. You'll ensure safe systems of work are in-place and briefed before work is started and that required safety standards are maintained at all times. Ensure directly employed and subcontract site personnel are competent and fully trained to undertake their work. You'll work closely with M Group staff and service manager representatives to manage changes identified on site We'll ask you to keep accurate records including site diary, records of works undertaken, resource allocations and as-built information. Support the Area Manager to develop construction programmes and methodology utilising existing knowledge & experience What you’ll bring Commitment to caring for people’s safety Willingness to influence teams to adopt better more efficient ways of delivering works Good team worker and strong communicator Skills & Knowledge Requirements: NVQ Highway maintenance/construction CSCS / CPCS Driving licence Extensive experience of supervising highway maintenance and improvement works Knowledge of works specifications to national standards Detailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM Detailed knowledge of quality and environmental standards for highway improvement work Extensive experience of managing and supervising staff, workforce, and subcontractors What’s in it for you?
