New year, new job. Are you a Principal Civil Engineer who wants more influence, more trust and less corporate noise? This is an opportunity to join a well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy where senior engineers are listened to, empowered and genuinely valued.
Based from the London office, you will play a leading role within a strongly led infrastructure team, delivering development-led civil engineering schemes across the UK. While London provides the team base and client interface, projects span residential, commercial, industrial, high-rise and major residential developments of 500+ units nationwide. You will not be siloed into one sector and will enjoy varied, technically engaging work.
The role
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of infrastructure design delivery while supporting team development and client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading highways and drainage design for development projects
* Managing S278, S38 and S104 submissions to approval
* Checking and approving drawings, calculations and reports
* Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers
* Coordinating with clients, architects and local authorities
* Supporting Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
* Overseeing project delivery to programme and budget
* Undertaking site involvement and construction support
About you
This role suits an experienced, infrastructure-focused Principal Civil Engineer.
You will ideally have:
* A degree in Civil Engineering
* Chartered or near-Chartered status with ICE
* Strong UK consultancy experience in development infrastructure
* Confident leadership and client-facing capability
* A collaborative, commercially aware mindset
