Your main responsibilities
1. Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of
2. components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc)
3. To rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
4. Check the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise,
5. temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
6. Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate
7. lift/escalator and complete service documentation
8. Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals
9. and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of
10. written or graphical information
11. Carry out site surveys and attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills
12. Work in accordance with the Company’s Safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personal
13. example of safe behaviour.
14. Contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety
15. management system.
What you bring
16. Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred
17. Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent
18. Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment
19. Advanced problem-solving skills
20. The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies
21. The ability to work independently with a flexible approach
22. Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors)
23. Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate
24. various hand and power tools and to record written information
25. Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
26. Good administration skills and punctuality
27. Full UK driving License
