The role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
7. Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available for suitable candidates)
8. Deliver practical, engaging lessons in line with food hygiene and health & safety requirements
9. Support pupils to develop cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and food safety awareness
10. Differentiate effectively to support pupils of mixed abilities, including those with SEND
11. Maintain a safe, calm, and purposeful classroom and practical environment
12. Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
13. Work collaboratively within the DT faculty and wider staff team
We’re looking for someone who:
14. Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
15. Has experience teaching Food Technology in UK secondary schools
16. Has a strong understanding of food hygiene, nutrition, and health & safety
17. Is confident managing practical lessons and maintaining high standards
18. Is committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
19. Is reliable, adaptable, and professional
20. Is happy to work PAYE, with clear and transparent pay
This role is suitable for ECTs, experienced teachers, and those returning to the profession.
Pay & contract
21. £163–£ per day, depending on experience
