Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quality Manager to join our client based in Coventry on a full-time, permanent basis. Working hours for this role are 7.30am till 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am till 11.30am on Fridays. Salary for this role is up to £38,000.
This is a hands-on position, mainly related to inspection, where flexibility and a desire to constantly improve are essential soft skills to ensure systematic company improvement. The role requires strong cross-functional communication to effectively relay key issues to staff, customers, and suppliers.
You will be part of a dedicated Quality Inspection team, responsible for ensuring:
* Quality process controls are properly engineered based on ISO 9001 rules, Customer Specific Requirements, feasibility analysis, and PFMEA results.
* Quality process controls are in place and operating as specified to ensure the expected quality, in a safe, clean, and well-ordered environment (5S approach).
* Inspection at all stages of production against design specifications.
Main duties include:
* First off inspection
* In-process inspection
* Running CMM programs
* Maintaining quality areas according to 5S methodology
* Calibration of measuring equipment and booking external calibration activities
* Controlling non-conforming products and reporting to management
* Editing and modifying CMM programs under supervision
* Supporting the Quality Manager with automotive quality tools and practices
* Identifying and recommending improvements to the quality system
* Conducting feasibility studies on new or modified drawings and specifications
* Monitoring supplier performance and recording findings
* Data analysis and reporting, including customer free issue received material
* Managing automotive quality tools and best practices in a fast-paced environment
* Liaising with customer SQA and conducting internal audits
Required experience includes interpretation of mechanical drawings (ISO standards), knowledge of GD&T, ability to use measuring equipment, operating CMM, understanding customer quality standards, and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Additional skills include calibration of measuring equipment, CMM programming, understanding of MSA and SPC, and excellent communication skills. The candidate should be self-motivated, able to manage time effectively, and capable of providing QA support using automotive quality tools.
