Overview
Estates Technician role at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB). The Estates team is responsible for delivering a safe, responsive, efficient and effective service to Trust properties, providing engineering support and advice on buildings, plant and equipment, and delivering a comprehensive maintenance and installation service across the Trust’s estates.
Responsibilities
* Manage resources dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the Estate in compliance with statutory requirements, NHS standards, policy and guidance.
* Deliver a safe, responsive and efficient service to Trust properties with appropriate engineering support and advice related to buildings, plant and equipment.
* Provide technical advice and support for day-to-day maintenance and engineering schemes.
* Be part of a team delivering a comprehensive maintenance and installation service across the Trust’s estates, ensuring high standards, financial efficiency and responsiveness.
* Participate in an on-call rota and work to support varied locations.
* Work as part of a team and on own initiative to cover a wide range of engineering services to buildings in varied locations.
* Hold a current full driver’s license and live within a 40-minute travelling radius of the Hospital.
Qualifications
* Fully trained, time-served Craftsperson who completed a recognised C&G apprenticeship and achieved an HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
* Working knowledge across a broad range of engineering activities including computerised control systems.
Requirements
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative; provide and manage a flexible and efficient service to cover a wide range of engineering services to buildings in varied locations.
* On-call rota availability across building construction and maintenance.
* Live within the specified radius and hold a valid driving licence.
