Overview

With 23,000 students, the University of Wolverhampton is one of the largest universities in the UK, with a strong teaching quality profile and active research and external income generation. The School of Architecture, Computing & Engineering manages a portfolio of Engineering courses including Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport & Automotive Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Additive Layer Manufacturing, CNC Machining and Composite Compression Moulding. The department pursues high quality Engineering education and maintains the University’s aspiration to be the University of Opportunity. The department is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to contribute to the development of Aerospace Engineering, specifically.


Responsibilities

* Contribute to research and teaching across the Engineering undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
* Deliver all aspects of aerospace engineering and demonstrate breadth of knowledge in the subject matter.
* Work with staff and students in pursuit of research, individually and as part of the wider School and Faculty activities, including engagement with established research groups.
* Disseminate research outputs in high quality scientific/technical journals and contribute to attracting research funding or generating external income.
* Be appointed either as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending on experience.
* Engage in research pillars such as Additive Layer Manufacturing, Composite Engineering, Energy and Green Technologies, and Process Engineering with cross-pillar collaboration as applicable.


Qualifications

* PhD degree in Engineering or a very closely related subject.
* Membership of a professional body will be an advantage.
* Good experience in all aspects of Aerospace Engineering.
