This is a varied, hands-on role within a busy 24-hour operation, offering a mix of PMIs, general mechanical repairs, and occasional electrical work. Unlike main dealer environments, this position provides broad exposure across fleet maintenance rather than being limited to one area. This opportunity is open to both experienced HGV Technicians and individuals earlier in their career with the right attitude and work ethic, as full support and development can be provided internally. Key Responsibilities - Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers - Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections in line with compliance standards - Complete PMI inspections accurately and efficiently - Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a mixed fleet - Undertake basic electrical diagnostics and repairs (lighting, wiring, etc.) - Maintain accurate service and inspection records - Work proactively to reduce vehicle downtime and maximise availability - Identify and report potential faults before failure - Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations - Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment Candidate Requirements - Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Mechanic (or strong transferable mechanical background) - Strong knowledge of HGV servicing, maintenance, and repairs - Experience working on trailers and associated systems - Ability to carry out MOT preparation and PMI inspections - Basic electrical fault-finding skills - Experience with Volvo or DAF vehicles (desirable) - Strong work ethic and positive attitude - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential) Working Hours Monday to Friday Start between 7:00am - 8:00am Finish approximately 5:00pm Paid 40 hours basic, with regular overtime available (typical 50-hour working week) Optional Saturday half days available Benefits - up to £60,000 annual salary (Depending on Experience) - Weekly pay structure - Strong overtime availability within a 24-hour operation - Optional weekend work for additional earnings - Company pension scheme - Free on-site parking - Stable, family-run business with low staff turnover - Long-term career progression and development opportunities - Supportive working environment where employees are valued Apply Now If you are an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic—or looking to develop your career in a supportive, long-term role—apply today with ISQ Recruitment to be considered.
