We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Digital and Quality Midwife to join our busy Quality and Safety Teamteam. You will support this team at RLH to effectively progress the national digital agendas whilst driving digital transformation and data quality to ensure appropriate MSDS submissions.
As part of the Maternity Team, you will co-ordinate and provide information technology support and training. Have an overall responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of data within the service and work closely with the staff to ensure that they are supported with the inputting of correct information electronically. You will be responsible for the preparation of the maternity dashboard and would also incorporate producing monthly key performance indicator reports for dissemination, discussion, and data quality assurance.

Main duties of the job
This post is aimed at a registered midwife with data management and informatics skills, to assist with the maternity digital transformation programme at the Royal London Hospital which will support health and care services to improve the outcomes for pregnant women and address health inequalities. As an ambassador of the Midwifery profession, will ensure clinical practice, supported by digital technology, meets professional standards.
This post has been created following the drive within the national maternity transformation programme for digital midwives to continue providing leadership, coordination, facilitation, evaluation, and improvement across local digital maternity work streams.
The role will support the design and implementation of national digital programmes, oversee the tracking of progress against digital transformation plans and develop a networked approach to enable digital transformation. They will also play a part in supporting NHS England to achieve its five digital missions, which include reducing the burden on staff, giving people the tools, they need to access information, ensuring safety and improving productivity.
The post holder will act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working within the existing digital team and in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team. They will be visible to staff and available to provide informatics support to midwives in their day-to-day settings.
The post holder will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, and a key element within the role will be ensuring quality data is submitted to inform trends and service improvement.
This role will further support the digital agenda within the Better Births and Long-Term Plan Reports which include driving forward the digital transformation of health and social care including progressing the quality of maternity dataset.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Midwife with current registration.
2. First level degree in related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence
3. Undertaken basic qualifications in the use of computer packages such as the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) and be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
4. Post-graduate management qualification and / or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience
Desirable criteria
5. Teaching qualification and / or recent teaching activity
6. Recognised project management qualification such as Agile or PRINCE2.
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Post registration midwifery experience.
8. Have knowledge and experience of working with data base, data analysis and coding.
9. Ability to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
10. Ability to store data information safely and correctly.
11. Ability to provide formal teaching to colleagues.
12. Ability to evaluate effectiveness of learning activities and identifies how it could be improved.
13. Service development experience, delivering clinical quality improvements and successful service change.

18. In-depth understanding of the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS) and ability to apply the findings to improve service delivery
