Key Responsibilities

* Conduct analysis at a strategic, tactical, and operational level, identifying and using appropriate analytical tools and techniques to interpret gaps, patterns, and trends, assess threat, risk and harm. Make recommendations in support of decision-making, prioritization and resource allocation regarding security.
* Be competent in turning analysis into insightful and informative reports aimed at internal and external customers, and the police. Be able to adapt reporting and communication style to the audience.
* Maintain a detailed knowledge of crime trends and a detailed understanding of their impact on customers.
* Develop professional relationships with external intelligence teams, departments, and agencies to assist in the prevention and detection of crime.
* Regular liaison with key internal and external customers is necessary. Be proactive in informing stakeholders of developing crime trends and the likely impact on their assets.
* Deliver regular presentations to internal and external customers regarding crime trends and security recommendations.
* Take ownership of our Crime Management database and Dashboard, including daily updates and interrogation.
* Establish and interpret requirements to ensure the needs of key stakeholders are met.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Skills
* Previous experience in an operational/intelligence development environment and to hold a nationally recognised accreditation in analysis such as NIAT.
* Experience as an Intelligence Analyst, preferably within a law enforcement agency (LEA).
* Problem Solving skills; Critical thinking & inference development skills.
* Interpreting & simplifying complex data sets.
* Excellent Communication Skills, both verbal and written.
* Experience of delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Research, analyse and assimilate large volumes of complex data obtained from a variety of sources.
* Knowledge and experience in the use of a variety of systems/software, particularly
* Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
* Experience of conducting intelligence research including the use of open source techniques.
* Ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers.
* Experience of working in a team to support fast paced live investigations as well as managing tight deadlines and prioritising workloads.
* Good working knowledge of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and relevant legislation (for example Investigatory Powers Act, Data Protection Act, Management of Police Information).
* Be naturally inquisitive, proactive and self motivated.
* Ability to prioritise & plan own work to tight deadlines.
* Must have a valid driving licence.
Desirable Skills

* Experience working in a police intelligence environment and experience of working with relevant police intelligence systems.
* Experience of working with covertly obtained products.
* Experience working with ARCGIS and Tableau
* Degree-educated, or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject.
