Van / Chassis Conversion
Vans - requirements:
Experienced fitters to be able to work in some of the below areas:
· Internal panelling
· Fit roofing accessories
· Internal racking installation
· Towbars
· Electrical to point of termination or full electrical
· Welfare vehicle installations from start to finish
· Seating
· Conversion of chassis vehicles – beds, tippers, box vans and more
· Steps, tail lifts, ramps
· Have the basic tooling and be able to use hand and power tools

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week – 4 day week
Chassis - requirements
Key Tasks
• Preparation of various vehicle-based equipment in the preparation section to include cutting and building.
• Preparation of vehicles for installation of various vehicle-based equipment.
• Working from drawings and using own initiative to carry out the conversion to the specifications.
• Piecing body sections for the bed conversions.
• Building glass carrying frames and roof racks.
• Installation of Ply lining kits.
• Installation of floors and false floors.
• Installation of roof racks.
• Installation of internal vehicle racking and any other storage equipment, units and boxed areas.
• Installation of seating and similar vehicle-based equipment into light commercial vehicles.
• Installation of equipment onto bare chassis to help build tippers, flatbeds, box vans and other types of vehicles.
• Cutting Aluminium and other items.
• Measuring, drilling and preparation of equipment for installation.
• General upkeep of the workshop and premises to aid with the smooth running of the workshop and conversion of vehicles.
• Ad hoc duties as and when required. Customer requested fitments.
Key attributes
• Accuracy in all tasks and measurements. Installations should be to a high standard.
• Flexible as the work can be varied.
• Have own basic hand tools and also be able to look after and care for any company tooling and equipment used.
• Effective communication and positive relations with employees at all levels within the organization and external contacts including customers and suppliers.
• Be competent at working alone or as part of a team.
• Experience in a similar field would be of benefit but not necessary as in house training can be given.
• Integrity.
NB: You do not have to know how to work in all the areas above and can specialise in panel vans, chassis, electrical or welfare, but you would have to demonstrate competency in your area. If you are an experience fitter or are multi-skilled you will be rewarded with a higher pay grade.
Good earning potential available as there are higher rates for multi skilled workers (can cover other areas/jobs). .
Full-time – (40 hours per week - 10 hours per day Monday to Thursday).
