The Senior Architect is responsible for the technical coordination of various design packages under the stewardship of the project Principal Architect. The role includes technical development and delivery of design packages to ensure compliance with project standards and client requirements.
1. Responsible for producing designs, drawings, schedules, and calculations for design projects, managing less experienced colleagues, and coordinating supporting staff.
2. Direct and manage in-house architectural technicians, other design disciplines, and architectural partners to meet client and business requirements.
3. Liaise with architecture and multi-discipline colleagues to produce collaborative built-environment design solutions.
4. Manage design input from architectural partners and sub-contractors/consultants.
5. Oversee projects from conception to completion, including feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed design, and site support.
6. Assist in managing resources to deliver projects effectively within standards, timescales, and budgets.
7. Provide technical assistance on-site.
8. Lead or proactively participate in project meetings.
9. Advise contractors and consultants on projects.
10. Coordinate multi-disciplinary design solutions during technical design, construction, and handover stages (Work Stages 4-8).
11. Review tender opportunities, prepare deliverables, cost estimates, and programmes.
12. Manage in-house architectural staff, other disciplines, and sub-consultants to meet project requirements.
13. Ensure compliance with ARB & RIBA registration requirements.
14. Proficient in Revit, Microstation, AECOsim, and CAD modelling standards.
15. Experience in Rail Infrastructure or Middle Eastern Infrastructure design is advantageous.
16. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign for graphical presentations.
17. Strong report and case study writing skills.
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with common data environments.
19. Robust knowledge of design and construction principles and standards.
20. Motivated team player, well-organized, with excellent communication skills.
21. Self-confident, proactive, and willing to learn through mentorship and critique.
22. Experience with standards from organizations like Network Rail, Crossrail, HS2, London Underground is preferred.
