Cleaning Supervisor – Band 3 Facility Services and Sustainability Working Hours: 05:30–11:30, Saturday and Sunday Contract Type: Continuing (Permanent, Part‑Time) About the Role We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our Facility Services and Sustainability team. This is a working supervisory role, responsible for overseeing a team of weekend cleaners while also undertaking cleaning duties alongside the team. The successful candidate will ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard and in line with University policies, contributing to a clean, safe and welcoming campus environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day supervision and basic line management of weekend cleaning staff. Ensure cleaning tasks are completed to agreed standards and within required timescales. Support and participate in cleaning duties as part of the working team. Oversee team deployment and manage workloads across designated areas. Manage and record staff holidays, initial sickness reporting and documentation. Review and record overtime requests in accordance with University procedures. Maintain good communication within the cleaning team and with wider Facility Services colleagues. Promote safe working practices and adherence to health and safety guidelines. About You Essential: Experience in cleaning within a commercial, institutional or similar environment. Ability to supervise, motivate and support a team. Good communication and organisational skills. A proactive, hands‑on approach to work. Desirable: Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
