Role Overview
As a Residential Support Worker in our Children’s Services, you will help children and young people lead fulfilling, positive lives. You will provide high‑quality care, support, and guidance, ensuring safety and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily living activities, personal care, education, and recreational activities.
* Encourage positive behaviour and provide emotional support to build self‑esteem.
* Develop and maintain trusting, professional relationships with children.
* Implement and review individual care plans.
* Safeguard children and report concerns promptly.
* Support development of life skills, communication, socialisation, and independence.
* Maintain a safe, welcoming, and structured environment.
* Assist with regular reviews and contribute to progress.
* Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory standards.
Person Specification
* Passion for working with children and young people, commitment to high care standards.
* Previous experience in residential care or similar desirable.
* Understanding of child development and support for emotional, behavioural, social challenges.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to build positive relationships.
* Teamwork, independent working ability.
* Flexible approach to hours, including evenings, weekends, sleep‑in shifts.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
* Driving licence desirable.
