Hereford Hospital – Rehabilitation Specialist
Location: Hereford, Herefordshire. Position: Permanent, Full time. Pay: Up to £27,985.32 per annum (depending on experience). Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Organise and run rolling 12‑week rehabilitation programmes.
* Facilitate and deliver live‑stream and in‑person group exercise classes for participants with varying degrees of ability and physical function.
* Promote self‑directed activity using pre‑recorded on‑demand classes and a journal to support participants in self‑managing their condition after the 12‑week programme.
* Re‑calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements observed in effort and performance.
* Identify deterioration of participants and, if necessary, follow internal escalation processes, ensuring that reporting is processed within a specific timeframe and outcome data is captured accurately to support charitable purpose and monitor progress.
* Engage in weekly 1‑to‑1 telephone conversations with each participant to offer coaching in goal setting, understanding restrictions, monitoring progress, and providing emotional wellbeing support while empowering self‑directed activity.
Qualifications & Skills Required
* Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (essential).
* Experience working in a Rehabilitation Specialist position (preferred).
* BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation (desired but not essential).
* Problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
* Organisational ability.
* Effective decision‑making skills.
* Time and resource management.
* Experience working with vulnerable adults.
* Good English and numeracy skills.
