Position Overview
The Principal Consultant will play a leadership role in shaping client success and driving the practical application of our SaaS platform. You will blend deep climate and sustainability expertise with strong client-facing and delivery skills. This is a unique opportunity to lead the customer onboarding journey, act as the expert consultant for post-adaptation strategy, and directly contribute to the future functionality of our product. You will be the crucial link between our clients and our technology.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Project Leadership
* Delivery Ownership: Act as the lead for new project delivery, ensuring high-quality, impactful results for clients.
* Client Relationship Management: Own and nurture key client relationships, providing senior advisory and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
* SaaS Onboarding: Lead and refine the client onboarding process, providing initial support and bespoke adoption strategies for our platform.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with the core technical team, including two Software Engineers and one Climate Scientist, providing strategic guidance on delivery timelines and client priorities.
Expert Advisory & Consulting
* Post-Adaptation Strategy: Deliver high-level consulting and advice on post-adaptation strategies, helping clients transition from risk assessment to actionable, long-term resilience plans.
* Regulatory Guidance: Serve as an expert on emerging sustainability regulations, including TCFD, CSRD, and IFRS S2, guiding clients through compliance related to physical risk.
* Physical Risk Assessment: Oversee or conduct high-level physical risk assessments, scenario modeling, and vulnerability analysis for clients.
Product Co-Development
* Product Input: Leverage deep client needs and market expertise to co-develop the next generation of our SaaS product.
* Translating Expertise: Translate client challenges and emerging market needs into clear, functional requirements for the technology and engineering teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience & Background:
* 5+ years in climate resilience, sustainability consulting, or a related field.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Consulting Foundation: A background at a major consultancy is highly desirable, demonstrating experience with structured delivery and senior client advisory.
* Client Success: Proven track record in managing client relationships, leading complex projects, and driving the adoption of technology solutions.
* Startup Mindset: Clear ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly growing startup environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
* Technical understanding of physical climate risks, adaptation strategies, and scenario modelling.
* Expert knowledge of key regulatory frameworks (TCFD, CSRD, IFRS S2).
* Exceptional communication and relationship skills, capable of translating complex scientific concepts into practical business strategy.
