We are looking for an enthusiastic maternity support worker to join our team at County Hospital in Stafford. This role will predominantly be based at County with some cross-site working at Royal Stoke. The post is rotational and appropriate training will be provided for the clinical setting in which you are working (antenatal inpatient or outpatient care, intrapartum inpatient care and postnatal inpatient and outpatient care).

Responsibilities
The primary role of the Maternity Support Worker (MSW) is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic, women-centered care. The midwife remains responsible for the care of the mother and her newborn(s), and the MSW provides personal care under direct or indirect supervision of the midwife after appropriate training. The post holder is expected to undertake a defined set of competencies, with support given to further develop skills and explore progression pathways where appropriate.
Responsibilities include contributing to care across the clinical setting, including ante-natal inpatient or outpatient care, intrapartum inpatient care and postnatal inpatient and outpatient care.
Qualifications
* Experience of working within acute services.
* Care Certificate (or equivalent).
* GCSE maths and English (or equivalent).
* NVQ level 2 or above in a health-based subject.
