We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Clinical Pharmacy team at our Chichester site. We are actively seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to work as part of the Pharmacy Clinical Team based at St Richard's Hospital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-confidence, have a reliable work history, and possess effective communication skills with staff and patients.
The Pharmacy Department provides services to a diverse patient population across various specialties. We operate a comprehensive, ward-based, patient-facing clinical service supported by innovative technology. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with weekend and bank holiday work as per rota. The role is based at St Richard's Hospital.
The Successful Candidate Must Be
* Self-motivated
* Competent in Microsoft applications
* Excellent communication skills
Your responsibilities will include assisting in providing a safe, efficient, and effective pharmaceutical service, particularly in ordering and dispensing inpatient and discharge prescriptions at ward level, following departmental procedures.
You will analyze patients' own medication to confirm its suitability prior to discharge, facilitating a safe transition from hospital to home.
You will also help improve patient access to their medicines by supporting receipt, storage, and transfer between clinical areas, and assist in reducing waste through proper medication management and following policies.
