Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

Location: City Vets, Exeter
Job Type: Permanent. Open to full‑time & part‑time applications.
We’re proud of a lot of things at City Vets, but most of all we’re proud of our culture. Following the retirement of one of our wonderful vets, an opportunity has arisen for a vet to join a team that we believe is truly special: empowered, motivated and kind, with a fantastic caseload and a loyal client base.
Modern, extremely well‑equipped practice: our main centre in Heavitree is supported by three nearby branch practices in Alphington, St Thomas and Whipton. State‑of‑the‑art facilities – including CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, dental imaging (across all operating sites), and separate wards for dogs, cats and exotics.
Exceptional clinical expertise – our team includes multiple certificate holders in surgery, medicine and imaging, with further qualifications underway in exotics and surgery. We are also supported by visiting specialists in cardiology (HeartVets), ophthalmology and physiotherapy. Our nursing team are our superpower. The team are highly skilled, undertaking a wide range of procedures and consultations. Strong case support – we work closely with local referral hospitals and benefit from regular CPD events and dedicated input from Cave Veterinary Specialists.
Career development – we actively support certificate study both financially and clinically, with exposure to advanced cases through our referral networks to encourage ongoing professional growth.
