About the role


The Trading Oversight & Reporting team work in a fast-paced friendly environment where they're responsible for ensuring HL is compliant with MiFID II Transaction Reporting and Best Execution at all times.
We are looking for someone who can thrive, whether working as part of a dedicated team or on solo projects, with a desire to influence internal change in an ever-evolving regulatory climate.
The role is a mixture of operational and regulatory focus which can provide a varied and interesting role for the right individual.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Analyse and resolve Transaction Reporting exceptions to ensure full compliance with MiFID II regulatory reporting requirements

* Review trade price data and investigate outliers to ensure clients consistently achieve best execution outcomes

* Ensure the timely and accurate completion of Transaction Reporting reconciliations

* Produce, analyse, and maintain Management Information (MI) reporting to support oversight, governance, and regulatory requirements

* Present MI, trends and key risk indicators to stakeholders, providing clear insights and recommendations where appropriate

* Collaborate effectively with internal departments and external third parties to drive the prompt resolution of identified discrepancies

* Contribute to the design, maintenance, and ongoing effectiveness of robust and well-documented controls

* Proactively identify, own, and manage issues through to resolution, escalating where appropriate

* Participate in wider departmental initiatives and projects to support continuous improvement

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

Essential skills

* Highly computer literate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

* Experience working within a control-focused environment

* Excellent time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, even under pressure

* Demonstrated ability to manage individual workloads to a consistently high standard

* Strong capability to prioritise, reassess, and pivot effectively between competing high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment

* Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to respond positively to ongoing change and evolving business or regulatory requirements

* Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and apply sound judgement to support decision-making

* Proven ability to design, implement, and document efficient processes and controls from inception

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex or technical information clearly to stakeholders at all levels

* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines

* Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong appetite for continuous learning and improvement

* Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams to achieve shared objectives

* Driven to deliver high standards of work and a consistently high level of client service


Desired skills

* Advanced Excel capability, including confidence working with complex formulas and datasets

* Previous experience within financial services

* CISI Introduction to Securities and Investments, or other comparable investment-related qualifications

* Knowledge of financial services regulation, with a particular focus on MiFID II

* Prior experience in a Compliance, Risk, or Regulatory function
