Service Care Solutions is working with a respected local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is seeking an experienced Criminal and Regulatory Solicitor to join their legal. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with strong advocacy and prosecutions experience to take on a varied caseload within a supportive local government environment. Role: Criminal and Regulatory Solicitor Location: Derby – court attendance required Umbrella Rate: £50–£55per hour PAYE Inc. Rate: £43.61 - £47.96per hour Contract Length: 3 months ongoing – open to part time The Role: You will manage a mixed caseload of criminal and regulatory matters on behalf of the authority, including conducting advocacy and providing legal advice across a range of enforcement issues. Key responsibilities include: Handling criminal prosecutions and regulatory matters. Attending court approximately 2–3 times per week. Managing cases from instruction through to conclusion. Drafting legal documentation and preparing cases for hearings. Key Requirements: Be a qualified Solicitor (in England and Wales) with 3 or more years of PQE in criminal litigation and regulatory law. Be confident undertaking advocacy in court. Ideally worked for a local authority previously within a criminal and regulatory legal team. Benefits: Hybrid working.
