A renowned restaurant multi‑brand operator, operating more than 40 restaurants within the group is launching its one of a kind majestic world cuisine buffet which includes: fine/private dining, a banqueting hall, ballroom, and conference facilities in the midlands. They are looking for an experienced Junior Chef to join their team near the centre of Birmingham.
* Minimum 2 years experience working in a kitchen.
Junior Chef Responsibilities:
* Measuring meal ingredients accurately for the Station Chef
* Plating and presenting food items as per the Station Chef’s instruction
* Receiving deliveries and making sure that all ordered items are of excellent quality and are delivered on time
* Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed by the Station Chef
* Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitising all work stations properly
* Taking inventory of supplies and informing the restaurant’s Supervisor of depleted or low supplies
* Disposing of all spoiled or expired food items stored in the freezers, refrigerators and stock rooms
* Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats, as well as chopping, peeling and washing, fruits and vegetables
Junior Chef Requirements:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as listening skills
* Attention to detail and ability to deliver high‑quality work
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team as well as independently
* Ability to stand for long hours
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* A food handler’s licence

Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary: £60,000.00‑£65,000.00 per year, plus 25 days annual leave and a great company pension scheme. Salaries are negotiable depending on experience.
