Job Description
Service Manager Planning – Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership
Waverley Court
Salary: £80,569 – £96,423
Hours: 36 per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) as the service manager for planning. This newly established role is within our Strategic Planning directorate and reports to the Head of Strategic Change.
As service manager, you will lead a team of planning officers and corporate strategic planners. Your role will involve planning the delivery of a wide range of services, both internal and those commissioned through partners in the independent and third sector. Your leadership will contribute to the successful delivery of our Strategic Plan and ensure that health and social care services are high‑quality, value‑for‑money and deliver good outcomes for the citizens of Edinburgh.
You should have significant experience of strategic planning, preferably in the public sector, and knowledge of health and social care is desirable. You will use data to inform service redesign and change proposals, and you will form and manage strong stakeholder relationships. Clear communication and experience developing change proposals in a complex environment are required.
This integrated role allows the successful candidate to choose employment with either the City of Edinburgh Council or NHS Lothian.
We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, from minority ethnic backgrounds, from people with disabilities or neurodivergent, from care‑experienced individuals, carers, and from LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation. All applicants will be considered fairly. Disabled and care‑experienced applicants who meet the minimum criteria will be guaranteed an interview.
We will assess how you bring our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
We offer a range of support options including counselling, mental health support, occupational health services, speak‑up supporters and a colleague listening service. Flexible working options, career breaks and other policies support a healthy work‑life balance.
We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Candidates invited to interview should inform the hiring manager of any adjustments needed.
